At Align Movement Design, we want you to move your body the most efficient way possible to elevate your quality of life. We believe that the Pilates Method of conditioning is a continuous practice and not just classes that you walk into to go through the motions and say you’ve exercised. Our focus is small group classes of no more than 6 people in order for your practice to be a journey to learn how your body connects to your mind in order to develop a strong body, correct posture, invigorate the mind and elevate the spirit.
In a supportive and realistic environment with instructors that are dedicated to helping you reach your fitness goals, we offer boutique size group mat classes, private sessions, and custom duets on classical apparatus to serve your needs. Whether you are looking to add a flexibility and alignment element to your current workout of choice or recovering from an injury our goal is to assist you in your fitness evolution using The Method the way that Joe intended.
Align Movement Design was created by Samantha Ingram with strong inspiration from Method teacher trainer Patricia Russell. Together we have over 35 years of movement training and experience to help you utilize the classical Pilates method to suit your needs. What sets us apart from other studios is our boutique sized classes for optimal results, hands-on assistance, and desire to build a sense of community all while staying true to The Method.
Align Movement Design only uses Classical Pilates apparatus as manufactured by Basil or Gratz. Our equipment was purchased in Fall 2016 and includes:
2 Universal Reformers
2 Wunda Chairs
2 Wall Units / Tower Units
Progressive study of the Classical Pilates Method on the Mat. Small group classes where
personal attention to your form and alignment is emphasized. We introduce the Mat exercises,
practice, then challenge you some more. Our instructors specialize in teaching multiple levels
for maximum benefit. Props are an additional bonus, they help you delve deeper into core activation. They might include: magic circle, weighted ball, squishy ball, theraband, pole..., challenging and fun.
APPARATUS CLASS (LEVEL 1 AND 2)
Use the traditional Pilates apparatus, Universal Reformer and Wunda Chair to achieve the most out of your Pilates practice. These spring loaded pieces of equipment afford you the opportunity to feel the resistance needed to develop the control that Classical Pilates touts, and attain the body that you desire. Classes will also include use of Wall Unit, Spine Corrector and other Pilates accessories, at the instructors discretion.
